Spilled Milk

Every loan starts out to be a good loan…

Spilled Milk is the place on my website where I and all of my colleagues in the community association lending business can share a dialog about a deal that went wrong in some way, shape or form.  Or, one that we decided to run away from.

The reason to share is to create a library of experiences for each or us in the lending environment to learn from. If a spilled milk story prevents another of my website visitors from making a similar mistake, then I feel as though I have provided a service and stopped more milk from being spilled.

Spilled Milk stories can be submitted via email to Alan@HOALendingPro.com as a Microsoft Word document or simply placed in the body of the email. I reserve the right to review and edit the stories as needed so as to protect the privacy of the parties involved in the story. Be sure to include your Full Name, Your Title, Your Employer Name, and whether or not you wish to remain anonymous when the article is posted.

I only ask that your story follow these 4 criteria:

1. Tell your story the way that you want to tell your story. Feel free to tell the story but try to not write with emotion.  Stick with the facts and details.
2. No names (people or borrower) and no cities. Use titles of the involved parties only.
3. Tell us what the lesson(s) learned was for you.
4. You are welcome to have your name, position and employer posted with the story. Or, you can simply post as “anonymous”. Be sure to let me know.
